Skyworth Built the New Mark for Low Carbon TVs
On July 28th, the second reason China electronic information industry and seasonal launch event of TV industry in 2010 held by State Department of Industry and Information Technology Coordinating Bureau, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Electronic Information Division, CVIA and AVC was held in Beijing. The conference revealed the awarding results. Skyworth Coocaa LED-46E60HR won “Green New Product Award”, Skyworth Coocaa HD AIO – 47E80RA won “Green Innovation Award”.
Many qualified products joined the competition. Coocaa IPTV challenged standing by system “0 power consumption”. It adopted the latest low power dissipation high photopermeability energy saving screen, innovative mould and circuit. In addition, the screen auto adjustment function maximized energy saving. LED green energy saving standard is redefined. Skyworth 46E60HR now covers 83.2% of its LED backlit TV sales. It is recognized as the most cost effective 46” LED backlit TV in the world till now. Except for those advantages, the clear product line also helped the promotion of Skyworth brand. Skyworth is the representative of the successful marketing of a TV manufacturer. The Vice GM of Skyworth RGB marketing headquarter and marketing Director of Skyworth Mr. Wang Hai gave a speech on “The LED upgrading challenge of China’s TV industry under low carbon trend” and discussed with the attendances on how to catch the trend of low carbon to promote the upgrading of industry.
The Dean of the CBU performance laboratory of the Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of National Radio and Television Wu Weihua confirmed the “Flat panel TV energy efficiency limitation and level” will be put into effort this December. According to the standard, the energy efficiency of flat panel TVs will be divided into three grades. Those unqualified TVs will be forced to get out of the market.
Wang Hai said :” The unveil of flat panel TV standard will bring more market space for energy saving LED. The price of LED backlit TVs will keep dropping along with the scale sales.” This year Skyworth planed to make the sales volume of LED TVs cover 30% of total volumn.
According to the statistics made by AVC, in the first half year of 2010 the sales volume of LED backlit TV is 925,000 sets. The market penetration rate reaches to 10.6%. AVC also predicted LED backlight LCD TV will cover 25% of the market till the end of 2010. The sales volume will reach to 14% which means 5.56 million sets. The annual comprehensive penetration rate will rise to 15%. Among which the penetration rate of Skyworth and other leading enterprises will exceed 20%.
Skyworth distributed LED liquid crystal production chain many years ago. Firstly, Skyworth built cooperation relationship with liquid crystal screen manufacturer LGD and CMO to ensure the efficient supply. Secondly Skyworth founded liquid crystal business department to invest on LCM, backlight source, Polaroid and IC. And finally became the main supplier of LCM. Wang Hai said:” Skyworth get involved into LED field a long time ago, its thinnest LED backlight LCD TV was promoted to the market last October. Before that the market was totally controlled by foreign brands.” In addition, he said the competition between TV manufacturers will not limit to products and will include the whole production chain.
